About the “Scorpions”
Sutton Heath Under 11s play in the South Suffolk Youth League, Under11 Division 2. The nickname of “Scorpions” was adopted by the team during their first under 8 season.
The team trains Wednesday evenings (after August Bank Holiday to May) from 17.30 to 18.50 at the main club ground behind Hollesley Village Hall. However they play all their home matches on the Oak Hill Playing Fields which are located behind the Oak Hill Social Club, Oak Hill, Hollesley. Please see below for directions to the Oak Hill ground.
A friendly club, the team exists to give opportunities to local children to learn and to play football. We don’t care about your ability – if you want to play and are prepared to try your best in training and on match days you are welcome to come along.
The team is coached by Ian Coates who holds an F.A. level 1 certificate. Ian can be contacted on 01394 411091 if you are interested in finding out more.

Directions to Oak Hill Social Club
Either from the A12 (from Ipswich)
• Turn right at the third island after the Ipswich Park & Ride island at Martlesham, sign posted to Melton
Or from the A12 (from Lowestoft)
• Turn left at the first island for Melton and Woodbridge
Thereafter
• After half a mile straight over at the Melton traffic lights
• After quarter of a mile straight over at the railway crossing at Melton
• After quarter of a mile take the right exit at the first island and up the hill past the entrance to Sutton Hoo
• After half a mile turn left at the signpost to Hollesley onto a dead straight road
• Follow road for 3 miles past MOD Woodbridge into the forest
• About a mile and half past MOD Woodbridge take left fork in the road sign posted to HMP Hollesley Prison (don’t worry we don’t play in the prison just yet!)
• After about a mile you’ll come to the cross roads by the water tower (Melton Road / Boyton Road) (see map below)
• Cross straight over and carry on road into Oak Hill housing estate
• Take the third entrance on your left directly opposite a post box (it is the only one for miles!) If you overshoot you end up at the prison, turn around and try again!
• Go clockwise around the green (it is one way) - the Sports and Social club is at 1 o’clock to the entrance to this road.
• Please park in the social club car park or directly opposite on the hard standing on the green. Please see the important notice below.
• Entrance to the pitch is down the little lane to the left of the social club as you look from the car park
• When leaving; please do NOT drive across the green as this is private land
** IMPORTANT **
The road leading to the Sports and Social club is a private road that is owned by the residents. Please do not park in front of the residents’ houses as both the road and the green in front of the houses is private property and it is the only place where the residents can park their cars. There is plenty of space at the sports club or on the hard standing opposite so we would ask all our visitors to use only these designated parking areas and respect our neighbours’ privacy.
